news9-7-2023A kitten that has had a "horrible start" to life after being found abandoned and alone and in need of immediate veterinary care has captured the hearts of many people who are rallying to raise £1,300 to match the cost of his emergency operation. Nelson, who is just eight weeks old, was spotted completely by chance on the side of the road by a volunteer fosterer from the North East Lincolnshire branch of the Cats Protection charity , who scooped him up and gave him some much-needed food. Noticing that one of his eyes was very badly swollen, the fosterer called for a colleague to come and help, and the kitten was rushed to the vets where he was given medication to ease his pain and reduce the swelling.grimsbytelegraph

news9-7-2023If you love cats—or cat memes—you may be familiar with kneading. Forelimbs outstretched, a kneading cat will press each paw in turn into a soft surface as if walking in place, often purring as it does so. But why? Behavior experts have proposed several reasons for why domestic cats 'make biscuits,' as kneading is sometimes dubbed, although never fear, cats still retain their mystery. 'Some of these are just theories because we don't know,' says Susan Nelson, a veterinarian at Kansas State University.scientificamerican
