ON my way to work recently, I chanced upon a couple of tiny kittens, prowling about aimlessly. I ride a bike to work, you see, so I managed to stop and look at them for a moment. The litter kept crying in that familiar meow sound. It seemed to me they were looking for their mother, who might have abandoned them. I couldn't do much as I had a newscast to catch. I managed to deliver them to safety, however. I moved them from the road to higher ground where there were bushes that I thought could protect them from heat.
