news1-5-2023MCCRACKEN COUNTY, KY — The McGangsters — a group that helps spay, neuter and feed feral cats in McCracken County — says it's facing a concerning dry cat food shortage. The organization will be at Banks Market in Lone Oak on Sunday, accepting donations to help feed hungry cats. In a Tuesday Facebook post, The McGangsters Co-Director Jim Gatlin said the group uses and distributes 10 to 12 bags of dry cat food each week to feed about 175 cats. news1-5-2023Like any bona fide cat lover, Pope Benedict XVI's face would light up and his hand would reach out at the sight of a fluffy feline – even when that soft bundle of fur was a squirming, feisty lion cub brought to the Vatican by visiting circus performers. His comments about how animals must be respected as 'companions in creation' earned him high marks with animal welfare groups, including the Humane Society of the United States and People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals. As cats are known to sense approaching cat lovers, Vatican kitties would apparently swarm around him.cathstan

news1-5-2023The standard interpretation of quantum mechanics places a lot of emphasis on the act of measurement. Before measurement, quantum systems exist in many states at once. After measurement, the system "collapses" into a specific value, so it's natural to ask what's really going on when measurements don't take place. There isn't a clear answer, and different ideas can go in some really wild directions. One of the first lessons that physicists learned when they started examining subatomic systems in the early 20th century was that we do not live in a deterministic universe.livescience

news1-5-2023As many of you know, I have a strong affinity for animals—particularly my own. I've said it before and I'll say it again: People are the reason I like animals more than I like people. For the last six years, I've been blessed to have my cuddly COVID companion, my confidant that watches me masturbate and doesn't tell anyone about it, my favorite fluffy, fat feline: Princess Ramona. But I must confess—Princess Ramona will never be as cool as my last cat, Jet Pack. In fact, no cat will. When parents with more than one kid say they love each child equally, I know they are full of shit.slugmag
