The Madison Health Department is searching for the man and urging him to contact health officials.-Mike Fitzpatrick, Health Officer, in consultation with the New Jersey Department of Health wishes to inform residents about a potential rabies exposure.

"I was thinking [of naming her] Miracle. We found her before the weather turned really brutally cold. She most likely would not have survived."

GEORGETOWN, Ky. (LEX 18) — A lot of us will have new goals going into the new year, and Central Purrk Cat Cafe in Georgetown had a goal to reach by the end of 2022."We're hoping everyone will come out and support the cafe and adopt a cat," said Kristen Lowry, a volunteer with the Scott County Humane Society.The goal in mind is 500 adoptions since the cafe opened two years ago. Entering Friday, the cafe had helped with 498 adoptions."This is the last day they're open, til the end of the year because they're closed this weekend," she said.

BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) – Former Capital Area Transit System (CATS) employee John Cutrone filed a lawsuit against the bus system alleging the bus company used 'false positive' drug tests to retaliate against him after reporting mismanagement within the company. According to the filing, Cutrone began working as a comptroller, which is an accounting role, in the fall of 2019 but began noticing incidents involving potential waste or mismanagement in 2021. He reported it to CATS. The lawsuit states that in January of this year, Cutrone was selected for a 'random' drug test by a human resources employee.

Seven tiny kittens were found alive on Christmas Day after being dumped in a zipped up suitcase. Three of them were just three-weeks old, while the other four were about 10-weeks old.

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah (ABC4) – The Pallas's cat, otherwise known as the Manul, Steppe cat, or Rock Wildcat, was the Salt Lake City area's most-searched animal on Google in 2022. These well-furred cats have stocky bodies with thick, soft fur and an 'abundant dark, woolly underfur' that is double the length of that on the rest of the body, according to the International Society for Endangered Cats (ISEC). These cats come from the cold Asian Steppes, a belt of grassland that extends around 5,000 miles from Hungary in the west through Ukraine and Central Asia to Manchuria in the east, with mountain ranges dividing different regions within the Steppes, according to Encyclopedia Britannica.

WESTON, W.Va. – The Weston Volunteer Fire Department's firedog, Halligan, held his seventh annual food drive that started around Black Friday and ended on the day before Christmas Eve. About seven and a half years ago, the Weston VFD decided to get a dalmatian fire-dog named Halligan. Deputy chief, Keith Talbert Jr. said that the community outreach they received after bringing Halligan home to the station was way more than expected. They decided to give back using the fire-dog by doing an annual drive for the Lewis-Upshur Animal Control Facility.

At least 10 cats were found dead on Friday when Colorado Springs fire crews responded to a house fire on the north end of the city, according to the Humane Society of the Pikes Peak region.At about 10:45 a.m., fire department officials reported that they were responding to a fire at a residence on Sproul Lane, near the intersection of Dublin and North Union boulevards. Firefighters from Engine 14 reported that smoke was coming from the home as they arrived.Crews were able to quickly extinguish the blaze, which reportedly originated in the basement, but at least 10 cats were found dead inside the home, a Humane Society representative said.
