The charity's shelter in South Dublin is expected to rescue and rehome over 1,000 cats and kittens this summer. It's a period known as 'kitten season' with a flurry of stray cats and kittens. Some 23 cats were successfully trapped during the storm and brought to Muintearas Community Centre in Leitir Móir where they were treated by a team of Galway vets. Vets and veterinary nurses from Craughwell Veterinary, Briarhill Veterinary Clinic and Clifden Vets volunteered their time free of charge for the operation that was planned weeks in advance.
