Animals in Need Donegal have reported that seven kittens had been dumped in a box at Murvagh Beach in south Donegal. The animal charity received a call that an adult cat had been found in poor condition in the same area on Thursday afternoon. In a post on social media, Animals in Need Donegal say the cat was the mother of the four kittens who had died. Animals in Need Donegal say the adult cat is safe and has received special food in small meals regularly.

A dachshund found herself surrounded and in desperate need of backup after attempting to steal some food from a litter of kittens. Callie, the 7-year-old canine, was left regretting her decision to go sniffing around the young felines' food bowls during a day visit to see her owner's mom, Misty Medlock from Florida. Before she could even get close enough to take a bite, the kittens, whom Medlock is fostering, had descended, adopting what's commonly known as the 'Halloween cat' pose of standing with their back arched, hair on end and their tails standing to attention.

Murvagh Beach car park has become a dumping ground for unwanted kittens in recent weeks.  A box containing four dead kittens was found on Wednesday evening, while two more were rescued by a visitor to the beach. They were brought to Animals in Need.  A third live kitten had been spotted but was proving difficult to catch. A spokesperson for Animals in Need said: 'Clearly, a life doesn't matter to some people, but we are delighted that a kind lady brought these two to safety after finding them dumped at Murvagh Beach Carpark.
